Dr. Sait obtained his PhD and Master’s Degrees in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in 1987 & 1983 respectively. His Bachelor’s Degree was in Electronics from Bangalore University in 1981. 

Dr. Sait has authored over 300 research papers in International Journals & Conferences. He has also contributed to several books’ chapters. He is the co-author of the book VLSI Physical Design Automation: Theory & Practice, published by McGraw-Hill Book Co., Europe, (and also co-published by IEEE Press), January 1995, and Iterative Computer Algorithms with Applications in Engineering (Solving Combinatorial Optimization Problems): published by IEEE Computer Society Press, California, USA, 1999. 

Dr. Sait served on the editorial board of International Journal of Computer Aided Design between 1988-1990, and was invited to serve as a guest editor for their special issue on Hardware Description Languages. He also served as the Computer Science Editor of Arabian Journal for Science & Engineering for over 20 years. 

Prior to his appointment as the Director of OPQ in 2022, Dr. Sait served as the Director of the following units within KFUPM: 

He is also the current Director of The Office of Research Chair Professors. Dr. Sait has had over 25 years administrative experience and more than 4 decades of Faculty experience.
