Data Analytics and Management

KFUPM is a large-scale institution with complex and multiple databases for different purposes. And as part of its digital transformation initiative, it established a central data repository where all the data can be readily available for specific uses. In light of this, The Office of Planning and Quality (OPQ) is responsible for gathering and managing these varied data sets from college and departmental levels. Additionally, OPQ source and manages publicly available data for benchmarking purposes. The OPQ ensures that these data are appropriately labeled, organized, stored and can be easily accessed and utilized by decision makers of the university.

The different data and reports managed and stored by OPQ include:

  • Annual Reports
  • Internal demographic data
  • Institutional surveys results
  • Intellectual property
  • Research funding
  • Research output
  • Inputs data for benchmarking analysis

The OPQ then carries out analyses on these different data sets-identifying patterns and trends as well as modeling for easy and visualization which is paramount for extracting meaningful insights and making informed decisions.
