Director’s Message

Welcome to the Office of Planning and Quality’s Homepage (OPQ) at King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM).

The Office of Planning and Quality plays an integral role in the university’s quality assurance and overall strategic direction. The office acts as a central and coordinated source of reliable institutional data used to derive KPIs and statutory reports that serve as major inputs to the continuous improvement of KFUPM’s processes and offerings by identifying strengths and gaps.

Also, the OPQ contributes to the culture of evidence and accountability at the university by conducting research and engagement in advocacy in areas such as policies, funding, technologies, and different developmental issues.

The office is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct in all of its activities and the use of high-quality and authentic data for planning, decision-making, and quality improvements of all the university’s units and functions.

The Office of Planning and Quality envisions being comprehensive in establishing and implementing excellent standards that leverage reliable institutional data, cutting-edge research, and intensive data analysis imperative for transformative decision-making and continuous process improvement that will place KFUPM in a preeminent all-round position.

The mission of the OPQ is to continuously appraise KFUPM’s plan to ensure that the university stays on course of its strategic direction in its program offerings, quality of services, research, and corporate social responsibility while ensuring operational excellence and continuous process improvement by playing a leading role in executing and supporting new and ongoing initiatives requisite to meeting the overall goals of the University.
